Sisters of Mercy - Cohen Tribute

Lei è Beth Orton in tributo a uno dei poeti del Novecento che ha dedicato questa canzone alle Sisters of Mercy, ovvero alle donne d'affare. A prescindere dal fatto che questa canzone mi farebbe urlare di gioia anche in versione suoneria-polifonica. Una parola in più sull'interpretazione va spesa: se Beth Orton avesse cantato sempre così, probabilmente adesso ci sarebbe una buona percentuale di quelli che si domandano "C'azz'è?" che avrebbe le sue iniziali tatuate in fronte.

Mi chiedo se interpretare in questo modo una musica che nasce per essere quasi priva di ogni inflessione, e con il solo scopo di dar voce esclusivamente alle parole, insomma mi chiedevo se un coinvolgimento del genere lasci ancora il riflettore acceso sul testo o se invece questo non si eclissi completamente davanti a un così caldo incanto emotivo.
